FAQ

CBD dosage and frequency vary from person to person. Self-experimentation is key when it comes to cannabinoid therapy. We recommend starting with a low dose and working your way up until the desired effects are achieved.

Be aware that CBD has a biphasic dosage effect with smaller doses causing alertness and larger doses causing sedation. For individuals looking for sleep support, keep this in mind - if you’re feeling alert after taking CBD, simply increase the dosage until the sedative properties are present.

CBD remains non-toxic in large doses, making self-experimentation safe. If you need help with dosage, please contact our dosing specialist for support.

Unlike THC, CBD does not have any mind-altering effects and won’t produce the high or euphoria associated with cannabis.

It is a common misconception that CBD is nonpsychoactive - CBD is technically psychoactive as it affects the central nervous system with resulting changes in mood. However, it is non-intoxicating, offering a unique benefit that differs from marijuana products.

The 2018 Farm Bill made lawfully-produced hemp-derived CBD products with 0.3% THC or less legal in all 50 states. While CBD may remain on the DEA’s drug scheduling, all hemp-derived CBD products that meet this criterion are considered federally legal.

Drug tests don’t actively look for CBD, however, the minimal amount of THC in full-spectrum products is enough to trigger a false positive. While we test all of our products for accurate cannabinoid content and do offer a range of broad-spectrum and CBD isolate products that don’t contain THC, we recommend avoiding CBD products if you’re expecting drug testing.

There currently isn’t enough data regarding the safety of CBD for pregnant or nursing women. While animal studies suggest safety, we highly recommend erring on the side of safety and avoiding CBD products during this time.

Topical CBD products shouldn’t be of concern as such a minimal amount will make it to the bloodstream through the skin. However, we recommend always speaking to your healthcare provider if you’re interested in trying CBD while pregnant or nursing.

We all have the lock and key mechanism for CBD referred to as the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a biochemical communicative network that’s responsible for regulating everyday functions including mood, pain, appetite, sleep, and more. CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system as well as at least 65 different biological pathways, helping nudge all systems towards homeostasis. That’s why CBD has such a wide scope of therapeutic promise for so many various conditions.

Similar to grapefruit, CBD can cause potential drug interactions by temporarily deactivating the p450 cytochrome system. While there are certain medications that can be safely taken alongside CBD, it is pertinent to speak to your healthcare provider first and to do so under their direct supervision.

CBD isolate products only contain pure CBD with no other cannabinoids and terpenes unless directly stated. CBD isolate may require larger doses to achieve the same efficacy as broad and full-spectrum products but are ideal for those looking to avoid THC and other cannabinoids. 0.3% THC.
